Pyotr Vasilyevich Maximov

Pyotr Wassiljewitsch Maximow ( Russian Пётр Васильевич Максимов ; * 1852 ; † November 1915 in Rio de Janeiro ) was a Russian diplomat .

Life

Pyotr Wassiljewitsch Maximow was a dragoman at the Russian embassy at the Sublime Porte from 1886 to 1890 and promoted the economic interests of Nicholas II.

In 1895, during a pogrom , he saw two Muslims killing an Armenian , had the two of them captured by his personal protection and brought them to the police.

In 1898 he was consul in Erzurum , in 1902 he became consul in Cairo , then Minister-Resident in Cetinje ( Montenegro ). In 1909 he was appointed envoy in Rio de Janeiro and was subsequently also accredited to the governments of Buenos Aires , Asunción and Montevideo .
