The Plößberg (820 m above sea level ) in the Steinwald is a densely wooded basalt cone west of Fuchsmühl in the Upper Palatinate district of Tirschenreuth .
geography
The Plößberg is framed in the west by State Road 2121 from Poppenreuth to Friedenfels , in the east by State Road 2170 from Waldershof to Fuchsmühl and in the south by State Road 2169 from Friedenfels to Wiesau .
geology
There is a large basalt eruption area between Marktredwitz , Friedenfels, Konnersreuth and Seußen . It is the westernmost branch of the North Bohemian basalt volcanism. In the Miocene , liquid basalt mass came up through the granite .
