Plamen Georgijew Konstantinow ( Bulgarian Пламен Георгиев Константинов ; born June 16, 1973 in Sofia ) is a former Bulgarian volleyball player .

Career

Plamen Konstantinow, who was 2.02 m tall and played the position of outside attacker, began his career in 1986 with Leski Sofia in Bulgaria, where he was under contract until he was 23 years old. In 1995 Konstantinov moved abroad for the first time. After a season with Iraklis Thessaloniki , he moved to Olympiacos Piraeus in 2002, via further positions in Italy , Turkey and Greece . After Konstantinow won the first professional title of his career with Olympiakos with the Greek championship in 2003 , he moved to arch rivals Panathinaikos Athens , where he was able to win the championship again the following season. After the end of the 2003/04 season he moved to France to Tours Volley-Ball and won the championship in France just a few weeks after winning the Greek championship . After further stints at the Polish first division club Jastrzębski Węgiel and ZSK Gazprom-Ugra Surgut in Russia , Konstantinow moved again to Iraklis Thessaloniki in 2007, where he ended his career in 2009.

Plamen Konstantinow was also an integral part of the Bulgarian national volleyball team , with which he won the bronze medal at the 2006 World Cup in Japan. In 2007 he was again third at the World Cup in Japan.
