history

Today's privately operated and financed Poller Heimatmuseum was founded by Hans Burgwinkel , a local historian from Cologne-Poll, first as a (virtual) website in 2008, then as an exhibition in Sportspark Cologne in 2015.

The private collection and in particular the website of the local history museum emerged from the traditional commitment of Poller Maigeloog, whose task it is to a. also promote bollard traditions.

Jägerhof

In search of old pieces from the former local history museum, Hans Burgwinkel was made aware of a writing by the historian Krudewig by the Therhag family, owners of the restaurant "Zum Jägerhof": "The Jägerhof, the local history museum Polls, edited by Dr. Johannes Krudewig, archivist, dedicated to his guests by Joseph Bietmé - Bartholomé, February 28, 1930 “" . The writing describes a walk from Cologne-Deutz to Poll and to the Jägerhof.

Hans Burgwinkel reissued the four-page font as a supplement to the menu and began - due to many inquiries - to write explanations. He stopped at around 400 pages and, at the suggestion of a large Cologne publisher, began collecting documents for a book project on the area near the Rhine between the Rheinpark and Poll. It now comprises several thousand historical images and documents - the oldest from the 16th century. In 2008 the website “Poller Heimatmuseum” was created as a virtual exhibition.

In addition, historical photos, documents and, above all, the remains of the glass pictures that were badly damaged and found incomplete in an underground cellar were taken over.

The restaurant "Zum Jägerhof" is therefore a forerunner and namesake, which is why the historic pub sign was also used as a symbol.

You should be a steady construction site, u. a. also be with key words, what has been started, etc., so that it can be seen what is being worked on or what is still being sought or researched.

It is always in the process of being set up and expanded and therefore not all sub-items have been processed and filled, a lot of things are only briefly or incompletely created and are being gradually added to and expanded. After a permanent exhibition of individual topics in the Jägerhof failed due to the death of Klaus Therhag, a separate museum space / building was sought.

Mobile and fixed exhibitions

The first exhibition was created in 2014 at the suggestion of Elke Heldt, the then chairman of the Cologne-Poll citizens' association, in the “Ahl Poller Schull” community center.
