Pomorska Wieś ( German Pomehrendorf , previously Pommehrendorf ) is a village in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship . It is located in the Elbląski powiat and belongs to the rural municipality of Milejewo (Trunz) .
geography
The village is located in the former West Prussia , about eight kilometers south of Malejewo (Trunz) and 13 kilometers northeast of Elbląg (Elbing) in the south of the Wysoczyzna Elbląska ( Elbinger Höhe , also Trunzer Berge ).
history
The older Slavic place names on which the place name Pomehrendorf is based are supposed to be related to the term grassland . Between 1286 and 1299, Pomehrendorf and Wolfsdorf received a festival from the commander of the order Ludwig von Schippe ; the locator commissioned with the settlement of the village was called Johannes Scharfenort.
Pomehrendorf was an old church village. Around 1864 the parish of the village covered an area of over 2,064 acres .
From 1874 to 1945 the district of Pomehrendorf existed in the administrative district of Danzig (from 1920 administrative district Marienwerder , 1922 to 1939 administrative district West Prussia , 1939 to 1945 in the administrative district of Elbing in the administrative district of Danzig) in the Prussian province of West Prussia (1922 to 1939 province of East Prussia , 1939 to 1945 Reichsgau Danzig -West Prussia ) of the German Empire .
Towards the end of the Second World War , Pomehrendorf was occupied by the Red Army in the spring of 1945 . In the summer of 1945 the region was placed under Polish administration by the Soviet occupying forces . The Poles introduced the place name Pomorska Wieś for Pomehrendorf . Unless the villagers had fled, they were subsequently expelled from Pomehrendorf by the local Polish administrative authorities .
Today Pomorska Wieś is a village within the rural community Milejewo (Trunz) in the Elbląski powiat in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship (1975 to 1998 Elbląg Voivodeship ).
