Port Edwards is in the middle of Wisconsin, on both sides of the Wisconsin River which flows into the Mississippi . The geographical coordinates of Port Edwards are 44 ° 21'03 "north latitude and 89 ° 51'56" west longitude. The municipal area extends over an area of 18.86 km², which is spread over 15.62 km² of land and 3.24 km² of water.
Neighboring towns of Port Edwards are Wisconsin Rapids (on the northern border), Lake Wazeecha (12 km east-northeast) and Nekoosa (on the southwestern border).
