Poul Godske

Poul Godske (born May 6, 1929 in Tommerup , Region Syddanmark , † July 14, 2011 ) was a Danish jazz musician ( piano , vibraphone , keyboard , saxophone ) and film composer .

Live and act

Godske grew up in Tommerup and began self-taught as a musician. In the 1950s he first played soprano saxophone , then piano and vibraphone. He was a member of Jørn Grauengaard's orchestra, then worked in trio and quintet format until the 1970s and presented several EPs for Metronome and Odeon . In the 1950s he also made recordings with Lars Gullin , Rolf Billberg , Louis Hjulmand and Erik Moseholm .

As an orchestral conductor and composer, Godske worked for theater, revues and television, for example for Preben Kaas ( Hvor er liget, Møller?, 1971), Sune Lund-Sørensen ( Camping 1990) and Per Pallesen ( Hjælp - min datter vil giftes , 1993 ); He also composed for the Hjørringrevyen Festival and from 1984 to 1987 for the TV series Pusterummet (1973) and Dansk Naturgas as well as for the music shows by Søren Pilmark . Godske accompanied the singers Etta Cameron , Grethe Sønck , Poul Bundgaard and Otto Brandenburg . Under his own name, he recorded the album Bald is Beautiful with his quintet in 1992 . In 2002 he ended his career as a professional musician.
