Priboi ( Russian Прибой , German  Rosehnen , 1938–1945 Seebad Rosehnen ) is a district of the city of Zelenogradsk in the Zelenogradsk Raion in the Russian Oblast of Kaliningrad .

Geographical location

Priboi is located on the Baltic coast , four kilometers southwest of the district town of Zelenogradsk (Cranz) and 26 kilometers north of the oblast capital, Kaliningrad (Königsberg) . The seaside resort can be reached via the municipal road 27K-278 from Kamenka (Michelau) on the regional road 27A-013 (ex A192 ). The Kaliningrad – Zelenogradsk – Pionerski (Königsberg – Cranz – Neukuhren) railway with the Sokolniki 1 stop (until 1945 Cranz-Rosehnen ) runs through Priboi .

The former resort Rosehnen was in 1874 in the newly built office district Michelau (Russian Today: Kamenka) incorporated, which for Fischhausen district in the administrative district of Konigsberg the Prussian province of East Prussia belonged. On November 20, 1893, Rosehnen merged with Michelau to form the new rural community of Michelau. On March 22, 1929 the area of ​​Rosehnens of the municipality Michaelau was reclassified into the rural municipality Cranz (today Russian: Selenogradsk).

The Second World War resulted in northern East Prussia and with it the seaside resort of Rosehnen being incorporated into the Soviet Union . The predominantly Protestant population of Rosehnen was parish before 1945 in the parish of Cranz - Sarkau (today Russian: Selenogradsk-Lesnoi). It belonged to the parish of Königsberg-Land II within the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union . Even today there is again a church orientation from Priboi to Zelenogradsk, where a new Evangelical Lutheran congregation was formed in the 1990s. It is a subsidiary of the Church of the Resurrection in Kaliningrad (Königsberg) within the Kaliningrad provost of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia .
