description

Early spring at Gramzow

Geomorphologically , the Prignitz is mainly a slightly undulating ground moraine plate with heights of around 40 to over 100 meters. The highest point is at Halenbeck at almost 153 meters. There are also individual terminal and compression moraines hill chains. The Prignitz is traversed by partly boggy river valleys, especially those of Löcknitz , Stepenitz , Dömnitz and Kümmernitz . They essentially follow the incline of the slab from northeast to southwest.

The Prignitz is a predominantly arable agricultural landscape with sandy soils. On the ridges and in a larger forest area in the east of the landscape there are mainly pines , in the lowlands next to grassland alder .
