Prothoat is a chemical compound from the group of dithiophosphoric acid esters .

Extraction and presentation

Prothoate can be obtained by reacting sodium O , O- diethylphosphorodithioate with 2-chloro- N -isopropylacetamide or by reacting sodium O, O-diethylphosphorodithioate with phenyl chloroacetate and isopropylamine .

It is also possible to produce it by reacting isopropylamine with chloroacetic acid chloride and O , O- diethyl phosphorodithioate .

use

Prothoate has been used as an insecticide and acaricide .

Admission

In the European Union, with Regulation (EC) No. 2076/2002 of November 20, 2002, Prothoat has not been included in Annex I of Directive 91/414 / EEC. For this reason, no plant protection products containing prothoate may be approved in the member states of the EU.

In Germany, Austria and Switzerland, no pesticides with this active ingredient are permitted.
