Puerto Concordia is located in the south of Meta at an altitude of 200 meters and has an average annual temperature of 24 to 27 ° C. At the border between Puerto Concordia and San José del Guaviare , the Río Ariari and the Río Guayabero flow together to form the Río Guaviare . The municipality borders Mapiripán in the north and east , San José del Guaviare in the Guaviare department in the south and Puerto Rico in the west .

history

Puerto Concordia was founded in 1973 as La Cuerera . The name was changed to La Concordia in 1984 and Puerto Concordia in 1985. Puerto Concordia received parish status in 1989.
