Pusztaszabolcs is a Hungarian city with a population of over 6,000 (as of 2011) in the Dunaújváros district in Fejér county .
Geographical location
Pusztascabolcs is located about 50 kilometers south of Budapest , six kilometers west of the Danube and 10 kilometers from Lake Velence . The closest municipalities are Iváncsa, Beloiannisz , Besnyő , Adony and Zichyújfalu .
history
Archaeological excavations near the Cikola Lakes on the outskirts show settlements from the Bronze Age and the Roman Age . The place was named after Prince Szabolcs, who was the owner of this area in the early Árpáden period . The first documentary mention comes from 1302.

Pusztaszabolcs is a railway junction on the main Budapest- Pécs line with branches to Székesfehérvár and Dunaújváros . In the city, roads no. 6205 and no. 6207 meet. The M6 motorway runs two kilometers east of the city .
