The Río Alto Beni is the middle reaches of the Río Beni and is located on the eastern slopes of the Andean Cordillera in the South American state of Bolivia .

The Río Alto Beni forms on the northeastern edge of the Cordillera Oriental as a continuation of the Río Cotacajes from the confluence of the Rio Negro , it bears his name on a stretch of 167 kilometers up to the union with the Río Kaka . In its upper reaches, the Río Beni rises as Río Tallija on the southeast edge of the Serranía de Sicasica near the village of Japo Kasa at an altitude of 4324  m . After the first 27 kilometers, the river is named Río Leque (35 km), then Río Ayopaya (40 km), then Río Sacambaya (37 km) and finally Río Cotacajes (125 km) until it becomes the Río Alto Beni.
