The Río Leque is the upper reaches of the Río Cotacajes and flows on the eastern slopes of the Andean Cordillera in the South American state of Bolivia .

The Río Leque forms on the southeast edge of the Serranía de Sicasica near the village of Leque from the union of Río Tallija and Río Khala Parani at an altitude of 3267  m . The river flows north from its formation and joins the Río Colquiri to the Río Ayopaya after 35 kilometers . The Río Leque forms the border between the Departamento Cochabamba and the Departamento La Paz along the entire route .

After 40 kilometers, the Río Ayopaya becomes the Río Sacambaya (37 km), which then joins the Río Negro and then forms the Río Cotacajes . After 125 kilometers, it joins the Río Santa Elena and bears the name Río Alto Beni downstream .
