history

Röhrig was probably founded at the beginning of the 2nd millennium AD. Soon the pipe mill was built on the Weismain , the oldest mill belonging to Altenkunstadt. It was mentioned for the first time as "Rormuel" in a purchase contract with the Langheim Abbey in 1180. Over the centuries, a small settlement near the pipe mill had formed. Part of it belonged to Pfaffendorf for a long time . For the year 1801, a more detailed description of the village and its affiliation has been handed down by the Bamberg mathematics professor and topographer Johann Baptist von Roppel:

“This place has no village or parish squares, nor any particular parish authority, but is everywhere in the Altenkunstadter district. The Zent belongs to Weismayn, the clergy to Altenkunstatt. The toe is included in the Altenkunstatter and Pfaffendorfer toes. The place consists of a mill called Rohrmühle, with a house, barn, outbuildings, three grinding tunnels and a cutting tunnels, which are driven by the Weismayn River, and in a Sölden built with house and barn, the monastery Langheim Lehen- and vogteibar and the demigen Monastery offices are controllable. A fishing water behind the mill can be controlled by the Weismayn office. "

- Johann Baptist von Roppel

After a fire, the mill was demolished in the 1970s. The Altenkunstadter comprehensive school with the Kordigasthalle sports center was built in 1977 between the Weismain and the Mühlbach, which was artificially created in the Middle Ages.
