In 1818 it was incorporated into Altenkunstadt. Decisive for the municipality seat was not the number of residents, but the property. Since Altenkunstadt, with 128 properties, was significantly larger than the other parts of the municipality Baiersdorf (41 properties), Kienmühle (7 properties) and Röhrig with Woffendorf (26 properties), Altenkunstadt became the seat of the newly formed Altenkunstadt community , to which Woffendorf has belonged since then.

At the end of the 1890s, the village community built a chapel, the centenary of which was celebrated in 1999.

Between November 2008 and April 2010 the bed of the Weismain near Woffendorf was changed to create a flood basin in combination with dyke structures. The construction project serves to protect the town against floods and cost around 675,000 euros.
