Rüdiger Lotter

Rüdiger Lotter (born March 3, 1969 in Arnsberg ) is a German violinist and conductor who is best known as an interpreter of music from the 17th and 18th centuries.

Life and artistic work

The son of a physicist studied violin and musicology at the Robert Schumann University in Düsseldorf with Michael Gaiser and in Cologne. In addition to his work as leader of the second violins in the Munich Chamber Orchestra and as artistic director of the Munich Court Orchestra , Rüdiger Lotter appears as a soloist with European orchestras and in chamber music ensembles such as Lyriarte. His artistic career as an orchestral musician led through the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen (1995–1998), the Wuppertal Symphony Orchestra (section leader, 1996/97), the Munich Philharmonic (1997/98) to the Munich Chamber Orchestra and the Munich Court Orchestra . In 2007 he was also a visiting professor at the State University of Music in Trossingen. Since 2009 he has been artistic director of the Hofkapelle Munich, where he is also the first concert master and violin soloist of the ensemble. Rüdiger Lotter gives chamber music concerts with artists such as Ronald Brautigam , Christine Schornsheim , Dorothee Oberlinger , Hille Perl and Irvine Arditti - the spectrum ranges from baroque music to contemporary music . As a specialist in historical performance practice, Rüdiger Lotter has already worked with orchestras such as the WDR Symphony Orchestra , the Bremen Philharmonic , the Ludwigsburg Palace Festival Orchestra , the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra and the Teatro del Liceu Barcelona.
