Rüdiger Rossig

Rüdiger Rossig (born August 26, 1967 in Mannheim ) is a German journalist.

Life

In the late 1980s he became a freelancer for Mannheimer Morgen . He studied Balkanology and Sociology at the Free University of Berlin . He also worked at taz , where he worked as an author and editor from 1993 to 2018. From 1995 to 1998 he worked for the UN and OSCE in Zagreb and Sarajevo . From 2008 to 2015 he was Senior Editor of The Atlantic Times , The German Times and other Times Media newspapers.

In addition to his work at taz, Rossig published in various German, Serbo-Croatian and English-language media such as Deutsche Welle , Vreme and Zeit .

Since 2018 he has been head of the Bosnian, Croatian, Serbian division at Deutsche Welle.

He is the guitarist of the Berlin ska band Blechreiz .

Works

(Ex-) Yugoslavia

In 2008 his book (Ex-) Yugos was published. Young migrants from Yugoslavia and its successor states in Germany ( ISBN 978-3-940213-46-4 ) in the publishing house of the Archive of Youth Cultures (Berlin). The topic is the everyday culture of people with a Yugoslav migration background living in Germany , also from the point of view of the various musical styles from punk to turbo-folk assigned to subcultures.

The book was reviewed by numerous domestic and foreign media, including the Frankfurter Rundschau , Der Tagesspiegel , Vesti and Delo (Slovenia).
