The Rümlig is an approximately 19 kilometer long right tributary of the Kleine Emme in the Swiss canton of Lucerne . It flows through the Eigental and drains an area of around 64.6 square kilometers in the Lucerne Prealps .
course
The Rümlig rises on the Trochemattsattel between Hüenerhubel ( 1577 m above sea level ) and Mittaggüpfi ( 1917 m ) at an altitude of 1436 m in the area of the municipality of Schwarzenberg . It first flows in an easterly direction before, from the confluence of the Bründlenbach , it breaks through the subalpine Molasse in a large loop towards the north , which is visible in the terrain through the inclined Nagelfluhband . Here it forms the border to Hergiswil and thus to the canton of Nidwalden for a short distance .
After the Rümlig the hamlet of Eigenthal has passed, it changes the district Lifelen again its flow direction to now extend to the southwest. On this section it takes up the Giselbach , the Längerlenbach and the Zilandgraben from the left and forms the municipal boundary between Schwarzenberg and Entlebuch after the confluence of the Fischenbach . It now changes its course again and flows north-east, takes up the Fischenbach, which rises above the Rengg, from the left , and flows into the Kleine Emme from the right after 18.5 kilometers near Schachen on the municipal boundary of Werthenstein and Malters .
Other tributaries of the Rümlig are the Giselbach, the Längerlenbach or Giessbach, the Spirbach and the Chrümelbach.
