Răzvan Lupaşcu (born February 8, 1978 in Galați ) is a former Romanian ice hockey player who was under contract his entire season with Steaua Bucharest in the Romanian ice hockey league . After the end of his active career, he worked as a trainer.

Career

Club

Răzvan Lupaşcu began his career as a hockey player at Steaua Bucharest , for whom he played his entire career in the Romanian ice hockey league. In 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2006 he became Romanian champions with the capital city club . In 2000, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2008, 2011 and 2012 he won the cup competition with Steaua . In addition to the appearances in the Romanian league, he played with his club in the 2008/09 and 2010/11 seasons in the multinational MOL league .

International

Lupaşcu was already active in the junior division for Romania at international tournaments. He played at the U18 B European Championships in 1994 , 1995 and 1996 and at the U20 C1 World Cup in 1995 .

He made his debut in the men's national team at the 2000 World Cup . After switching to the current division system, Lupaşcu played in Division I in 2004 and 2005. In Division II, he joined Romania in 2008 . He also played for Romania in qualifying for the Olympic Winter Games in Turin in 2006 and in Vancouver in 2010 .

Coaching

After the end of his active career, Lupaşcu worked as a coach. He was temporarily the U18 coach of his home club Steaua Bucharest and at the U20 World Cup 2015 he was assistant coach of the Romanian juniors who played in Division II.
