RIN [rɪn] (bourgeois Renato Simunovic ; * 1993 or 1994 in Bietigheim-Bissingen ) is a German rapper with Croatian and Bosnian roots.

Life

RIN grew up in his native town of Bietigheim-Bissingen near Stuttgart in Baden-Württemberg . RIN graduated from high school there at the Aurain secondary school. His parents run a restaurant in nearby Ludwigsburg .

In 2012 RIN started making music with rapper Caz . In the summer of 2015, the two released the track Ljubav / Beichtstuhl , which aroused the interest of producer The Breed from the label Alles oder Nix . Together they recorded an EP , which, however, was never released due to artistic differences. Shortly afterwards, Rin met Max from the Berlin independent label Live from Earth, who supported the young artist from then on. He also got to know the Austrian rapper Yung Hurn through the casual label , with whom he recorded the EP Mafia der Liebe , which has not yet been released. The first single was the track Bianco , which became a summer hit on May 12, 2016 and was voted single of the year in the annual charts of Juice magazine .

In the spring of 2017, RIN tracks hit the official German song charts for the first time. Since 2017, he has been under contract with the Division Recordings label , which was founded by Selfmade Records managing director Elvir Omerbegovic and The Factory directors Markus Weicker and Michael Weicker. On August 5th, the official tracklist for his debut album EROS was published, which contains 15 songs and was released on September 1st, 2017. On December 7th, Rin won the 1 Live Krone with his album "EROS" with the nomination in the category "Best Album". At the Hiphop.de Awards 2017 he won the prestigious category “Best Newcomer National”, in which scene greats such as MoTrip , Haftbefehl , Farid Bang and KIZ had been chosen as winners in previous years .

His mixtape Planet Megatron was released on June 22, 2018 . The single Dior 2001 contained on it made it to number four in the charts in Germany and Switzerland and was certified in Germany and Austria with a gold and a platinum record.

In 2019 he released several songs that made it into the German-speaking charts, including Up In Smoke . He also announced his second album Neverland on September 27, 2019 with the release of the song Fabergé . The album was released on December 6th together with the deluxe box, which was created in collaboration with Nike .
