Adi Raïs Cobos Adrien M'Bolhi Ouhab ( Arabic رايس وهاب مبولحي; * April 25, 1986 in Paris ) is a French - Algerian football player of Congolese descent (father is Congolese, mother Algerian) who plays in the position of goalkeeper .

Athletic career

Club career

M'Bolhi had started playing football at Racing in his native Paris at the age of nine before moving to the youth department of Olympique Marseille in 2003. He was soon running regularly for the second team of the club in the south of France. He didn't get a chance to work in the professional team, however, and so M'Bolhi moved to Scotland for free in January 2006 and signed a contract with Heart of Midlothian that was valid until the summer . In the Scottish Premier League , however, he was only left with the role of substitute keeper. Therefore, he joined the Greek second division club Ethnikos Piraeus in the summer of 2006 . At the beginning of his engagement he was used regularly, but lost his regular place in the first half of the season. Therefore, the club gave him in winter to the third division team Panetolikos , for whom he played in the second half of the season.

In 2008 M'Bolhi left Europe and moved to the Japan Football League . At the third division FC Ryūkyū , he guarded the goal as a regular goalkeeper for the entire season. Nevertheless, he returned to Europe in May 2009. For the Bulgarian club Slavia Sofia he ran on in the A Grupa and kept the club with good performances in the front division. He was then named the best goalkeeper in Bulgaria in January 2010.

In January 2011 he moved to Krylja Sowetow Samara and signed a three-year contract. In the summer of 2014 he moved to the US MLS for Philadelphia Union .

For the 2015/16 season he moved to the Turkish first division club Antalyaspor . After he was still only a substitute goalkeeper, he moved to Stade Rennes in France during the 2016/17 season. On November 15, 2017, the club terminated the contract with M'Bolhi by mutual agreement. He has been playing for al-Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia since the beginning of 2018 .

National team

Between 2001 and 2003, M'Bolhi was appointed to the French U-16 team several times. He then moved up to the U-17 national team. There were no further appointments to other youth teams or the French senior team .

In May 2010, the Algerian national coach Rabah Saâdane M'Bolhi appointed to the provisional squad of the Algerian national team for the 2010 World Cup . In the national team he made his debut on May 27, 2010 in a friendly against Ireland . He was substituted on in the second half and conceded a goal from a penalty kick. At the 2010 World Cup, he was in goal for the first time in the preliminary round match against England and remained without conceding a goal. For the 2014 World Cup , he was reappointed to the Algerian squad and played in all group matches against Belgium , South Korea and Russia over the full season. With the Algerian national team, M'Bolhi qualified for the second round of the 2014 World Cup on June 30, 2014 in Porto Alegre against the German national team and was named Man of the Match despite his team's 2-1 defeat after the game . At the African Cup of Nations in 2015 , he was the goalkeeper of the Algerians. A 3-1 opening win against South Africa was followed by a narrow 0-1 defeat against Ghana with a goal from Asamoah Gyan in the 92nd minute. In the third group game of Group C, they secured a place in the quarter-finals with a 2-0 win over Senegal , but finished second behind Ghana despite a tie, as the direct duel decided the placement. In the quarter-finals, the team was eliminated 1: 3 against the eventual winner from Ivory Coast .
