Radeče (German: Ratschach ) is a town and a municipality in the historic Dolenjska (Lower Carniola) region in Slovenia .

The total municipality, which consists of 23 localities, has around 4,300 inhabitants, around half of them in the main town of Radeče (as of 2014, declining since the 1990s). The town of Radeče is located in the central Posavje mountain range at the mouth of the Sopota and the Sava .

Radeče was first mentioned in writing in 1297. Finds of tools made from bones show that the place was settled much earlier. The settlement has had market rights since 1338 and Radeče became a town in 1925 and finally a municipality in 1995.
