Rafael Alfaro

Rafael Alfaro Alfaro SDB (born February 6, 1930 in El Cañavate , Cuenca province , † March 23, 2014 in Granada ) was a Spanish religious priest , poet and journalist .

Life

He studied philosophy and theology in Cordoba and Seville . After he was ordained a priest in 1957 and held his first mass in the Mezquita de Córdoba , he studied Gregorian chant in Paris . He then taught philosophy, literature and music at the Instituto Internacional don Rúa in San Salvador and as director of the Colegio San Bosco in San José in Costa Rica . In 1972 he completed his studies in journalism with a degree in information science in Madrid .

He gave impulses to the poet Francisco Arellano Oviedo and was friends with the poet priest Valentin Arteaga . He worked as a poetry critic in the magazine Reseña and magazines Cultura (San Salvador), Claustro Poético ( Jaén ) and in the Boletín Salesiano .

He himself has published over 25 books, mainly volumes of poetry, and has received national and international awards:
