Rafael Haider (born March 25, 1991 in Hall in Tirol ) is an Austrian actor and musician .

Life

Rafael Haider was born the son of the musician Siggi Haider (* 1957) and grew up in Axams in Tyrol. He learned to play the accordion from his father. From 2000 to 2008 he received acting lessons at the Tiroler Landestheater Innsbruck with Kurt Weinzierl , Tobias Moretti and Bettina Redlich . In 2012/13 he attended the jazz and improvised music course at the Tyrolean State Conservatory .

From 2000 he was seen in various children's roles at the Tiroler Landestheater, and in 2003 he appeared on stage for the first time at the Tyrolean Volksschauspiele in Telfs . Also in 2003 he could be heard alongside Kurt Weinzierl and Pepi Pittl in the ORF radio play Die Beichte by Felix Mitterer , the radio play was awarded the ORF Radio Play Prize in 2003 and the Prix ​​Italia in 2004. The music for it came from his father Siggi. In 2008 he played the role of Louis in The King and I at the Tiroler Landestheater, and in 2009 he played Siegfried in Die Nibelungen . In 2014 he was in a cage full of fools on stage as Laurent at the Tyrolean Volksschauspiele Telfs.

In Tatort: ​​Sternschnuppe he had a leading role in 2016 and also wrote the song Gone together with his father, which can be heard in the film. He played the role of Pepe in the world premiere of the jukebox musical Santa Maria with songs by Roland Kaiser in Vienna's MuseumsQuartier in July 2017, as well as at the German premiere at the Deutsches Theater in Munich in October 2017. In March 2019, he celebrated at the Vienna Renaissance Theater Theater of Youth as Nicholas in The Middle of the World premiered.
