The bank was founded in 1879 under the name "Ober-Rothweiler Ortsdarlehenscassen Verein". The business purpose at that time was exclusively the savings business and lending money to members of the bank. In 1889 the newly elected computer Heinrich Klingenmeier took over his office. In the same year, the bank was named "rural credit association". The main building on Bahnhofstrasse in Oberrotweil was built in 1908, but the bank did not move into it until 1927. Inflation peaked in 1923, leaving many citizens in great need. According to the protocol of October 23, 1923, each member was granted 10 billion marks normal credit in support. In 1924 the previous mark was exchanged for the Rentenmark . The conversion rate of 1 trillion paper marks resulted in 1 Rentenmark. Fritz Bercher became the new chairman in 1932. In 1939, the 60th anniversary was celebrated with 350 members. After the Second World War , the reconstruction took place, the credit unions provided auxiliary equipment for this. In 1964 the bank was renamed "Spar- und Kreditbank", shortly afterwards it was decided to convert the bank building. With the 90th anniversary , the new bank building was inaugurated in 1969.

The "Raiffeisenbank Kaiserstuhl eG" was created through the merger of all credit cooperatives on the western Kaiserstuhl in 1970. The merger affected the Raiffeisen banks in Oberrotweil , Achkarren , Bickensohl , Burkheim , Jechtingen and Oberbergen. In the same year, Karl Schwab took over the position of CEO. In 1976 merged the bank with the Raiffeisen Bank Bischoffingen , has risen so that the number of members to 2,000.
