Rainer Bressler

Rainer Bressler (born December 3, 1945 in Windisch AG ) is a Swiss lawyer and writer .

Life

Rainer Bressler is the son of Margrit (1911–1999) and the doctor Hans-Günther Bressler-Kessi (1911–1985). Hans-Günther Bressler was born in Jauer, Silesia, studied medicine in Breslau, Vienna, Halle and Heidelberg, was unable to do a doctorate in 1937 for racial reasons , which is why he emigrated to Switzerland in 1937 and from late 1937 until his retirement in 1978 worked as a psychiatrist and forensic scientist in the Königsfelden Psychiatric Clinic . Rainer Bressler studied law at the University of Zurich and graduated in 1970 with a licentiate . He then did his doctorate with Peter Noll . After working for the finance department of the Canton of Zurich , he found a position in 1982 as the legal secretary of the Zurich District Council, specializing in social issues and guardianship. In this supervisory function over the social department of the city of Zurich, he experienced the city councilors and social welfare officers Emilie Lieberherr , Monika Stocker and Martin Waser and was concerned with, among other things, controversial issues such as the Platzspitz and the abuse of social welfare that was discussed by Weltwoche .

Travel impressions (Sicily and Pantelleria) of him appeared, the first in 1969 in the Aargauer-Zeitung, the second in 1978 in the Schweizerischer Beobachter . (Contributors: Lola Müthel , Hans Caninenberg ), produced in 1985, he was invited to the 7th Solothurn Literature Days in 1985 and to the 3rd Radio Play Days in Berlin in 1986, at the Literary Colloquium Berlin . His first novel, “Privatzeug 1854 bis 2012. An attempt to search for clues. Spur 1 Reisen “was published in 2013.

Rainer Bressler is a member of the Swiss Writers' Association (AdS) and ProLitteris . As a board member of the Zürcher Theaterverein (1998 to 2006) he was co-editor of the TheaterZeitung (until 2004), where he wrote his own articles about the Sogar theater , Theater Rigiblick , Keller 62 Zurich and the Ethnographic Museum of the University of Zurich . From 1998 to 2005 he was a member of the Board of Trustees and President of the Foundation, succeeding Emilie Lieberherr, of the Social and Old Age Fund (SAF) of the Swiss Writers' Association (SSV), the predecessor organization of the AdS. Since his retirement he has been living as a freelance writer in Zurich and is also a member of the board of the Pfuusbus association, Pastor Ernst Sieber's social services.
