Rainer Horbelt

Rainer Horbelt (born November 26, 1944 in Wismar ; † February 9, 2001 in Albufeira , Portugal ) was a German writer and director .

Life

Rainer Horbelt attended a grammar school in Gelsenkirchen from 1955 to 1964 . He then studied theater studies , German literature and art history at the University of Cologne . He completed an apprenticeship as an actor, which he completed in 1968 with the stage maturity test. He also wrote articles for various newspapers as a freelance journalist. From 1968 to 1971 he studied at the University of Television and Film in Munich . He then worked as a lecturer for the television play department of Bavarian Broadcasting . He has directed numerous television plays and documentaries and taught media studies in Munich , Cologne , Dortmund and Berlin . Horbelt lived for a long time in Marl , later in Gelsenkirchen-Buer and finally in the Portuguese Algarve .

Rainer Horbelt was the author of narrative works, non-fiction books, travel guides, radio features , radio plays and scripts for television plays.

In 1973 Rainer Horbelt received the advancement award for literature from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia , in 1991 a work grant from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and in 1993 a grant from the Prussian Sea Handling Foundation .
