Rajnandgaon (also Raj Nandgaon ) is a city ( Municipal Corporation ) in the central Indian state of Chhattisgarh with about 163,000 inhabitants (2011 census).
It is the seat of the administration of the district of the same name . The city is located on the north bank of the Shivnath 30 km west-southwest of the city of Durg . The national highway NH 6 ( Great Eastern Road ) connects the two cities. The Bombay - Howrah railway runs past Rajnandgaon.
