The Lyman Raion (Ukrainian Лиманський район / Lymanskyj rajon ; Russian Лиманский район / Limanski rajon ) is an administrative unit founded in 1923 within the Donetsk Oblast in eastern Ukraine .

The Rajon has an area of ​​1018 km² and a population of around 21,000 inhabitants, the administrative seat is in the eponymous city of Lyman , but this is not itself part of the Rajon area. Between 1925 and May 19, 2016, the Rajon was named Rajon Krasnyj Lyman (Ukrainian Краснолиманський район / Krasnolymanskyj rajon) analogous to the name of the city .
