Ramin Bahrami

Ramin Bahrami (born December 27, 1976 in Tehran ) is a German - Iranian pianist and composer who lives in Germany.

Life

At the age of 11, Bahrami, his mother and brother had to flee from Iran to Italy almost penniless , his father remained imprisoned in Iran and died in 1991.

With the help of a cultural promotion program of the Italian state and the support of his father's friend and sponsor, Paolo Belasich, he was able to begin his studies at the G. Verdi Conservatory in Milan with Piero Rattalino in 1993. He then continued to improve his playing with Danilo Lorenzini and at the Incontri col Maestro piano academy in Imola .

He then attended the Hochschule für Musik in Stuttgart and studied with Wolfgang Bloser, but also received composition lessons from Lorenzini in Milan for many years. He was also tutored by Alexis Weissenberg , András Schiff , Robert Levin and especially Rosalyn Tureck . In 2012, Bahrami made his debut at La Scala in Milan in honor of Cardinal Martini.

Through another patron, the industrialist Hans Böhme, he came to Crailsheim in 2000 , where he has lived with his mother and brother ever since. He has written five books that are now considered music bestsellers in Italy. Bahrami is part of Bach 333 Edition from Deutsche Grammophon and Decca with 5 CDs. His recordings have been published by Decca Universal. In 2019, Decca Italia is releasing Bach Keyboards Works, where 15 CDs are collected only with Bach's piano music with Ramin Bahrami. He played "Bach is in the Air", a combination between jazz and Bach original, with the great jazz pianist Danilo Rea, with great success in Tokyo, Osaka, Beijing Shanghai Bangkok. Several concerts and recordings are planned for 2019 and 2020. His next publication will be the history of Persian music for the first time in Italian, which will appear in "Nave di Teseo". Ramin Bahrami recorded the Bach piano concertos with Decca with the Gewandhausorchester and Riccardo Chailly .

Musical work

Even during his studies, Bahrami had several appearances at the Milan Conservatory, at the Teatro delle Erbe and at the University of 'L. Bocconi '.

He was a participant in the International W. A. ​​Mozart Piano Festival in Rovereto , the Festival "From Bach to Bartók" in Imola, the Piano Festival in Amalfi and a series of concerts in Modena .

In Treviglio he played under Marcello Abbado , at the Festival in Rimini he played with the Arturo Toscanini Symphony Orchestra of Emilia-Romagna .

At the beginning of 1998 he gave a concert in a retirement home for musicians and on February 23rd he made his debut at the Teatro Bellini in Catania . This concert was broadcast on a television station. As a result, he was given honorary citizenship by the mayor.

In May of that year he toured Mexico and in March 1999 he played the Goldberg Variations at the Teatro Manzoni in Milan. He later performed the Goldberg Variations in London's Wigmore Hall . He has performed in Paris at the Salle Cortot, the Tonhalle Zürich, the Budapest Liszt Academy and the Konzerthaus Berlin.

In 2005 he performed the Chamber Orchestra of Hans Werner Henze with the Janàcek Philharmonic Orchestra under Latham Konig. He played Beethoven's Choral Fantasy with the Kammerphilharmonie Stuttgart. With the Orchestra Verdi from Milan he played Saint Sean's Piano Concerto No. 2 in G minor in the Auditorium "Mahler". In the Sala Sinopoli in Rome (Parco della Musica) under the direction of the conductor Lü Ja, he performed Mozart's piano concerto k.466. He went on tour with the Latvian Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra under Andres Mustonen. He played very successfully in Sochi with Yuri Bashmet and Moscow soloists.
