The Ranzow is a sea sign ship of the Stralsund waterways and shipping office .

history

The ship was ordered by the mechanical engineering department for the Stralsund Waterways and Shipping Authority at the time. It was built in 2000 at the Fassmer shipyard in Berne / Motzen. The hull was supplied by Jantar in Kaliningrad, Russia, and built there under construction number 98/1/5820. The keel was laid on March 17th, the launch on April 20th, 2000. The ship was completed in December 2000 at the Fassmer shipyard.

commitment

The ship is used for laying out, hauling in and checking floating nautical signs and bearings. It is also used for people and material transport and hydraulic engineering work. The hull is reinforced with ice and the ship is classified as ice class "E1" so that the ship can also be used for ice breaking. Ice can be broken up to a thickness of 30 cm at a constant speed of 2 kn.

Technical data and equipment

The ship is powered by two eight - cylinder four - stroke diesel engines made by MTU Friedrichshafen, each with an output of 420  kW . The motors act on two variable pitch propellers via gears . The ship reaches a speed of 12  knots . In the bow of the ship there is a transverse thruster control system with an output of 125 kW.

Two shaft generators with an apparent power of 145  kVA and a generator with an apparent power of 55 kVA are available for the power supply.

The deck superstructures of the ship are in the bow area. The aft area is taken up by the 122 m² open working deck. A hydraulic crane is also located here, which can lift 5 t with an 8 m extension.
