Raoul Billerey

Raoul Billerey ( Émile Gaston Maurice Billeret ; born October 12, 1920 in Nice , † July 28, 2010 in Limoux ) was a French stuntman , weapon master in film and actor .

Life

Billerey took an early interest in the theater and made the acquaintance of the actor Pierre Renoir ; after the Second World War he made his stage debut in 1946 in The Love of Three Oranges . At the beginning of the 1950s he learned fencing from Claude Carliez and was soon hired by André Hunebelle as a stuntman and armorer in his numerous adventure films. Billerey was also active as a fencer and actor in mostly small roles in over 150 films and television films. He was a sought-after specialist in action scenes, especially in the French-made coat-and-sword films. Until the year before his death, he also played numerous roles on the stage, such as his last in Jésus II as Adam.
