Ray June

Ray June (born March 27, 1895 in Ithaca , New York , † May 26, 1958 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American cameraman .

Life

Ray June worked as a cameraman during his military service in World War I. After a relatively short time as a camera assistant, he started shooting films of average importance as chief cameraman from 1921. Only after the introduction of the sound film did he have the opportunity for more demanding work. The films from this period include: B. Blooming nonsense with the Marx Brothers . After joining MGM , he was responsible for the photography of numerous films with superstars such as Jean Harlow and Clark Gable . After more years with again less significant films and the departure from MGM, June was able to build on earlier successes with films like Der Hofnarr .
