Ray Watson
Ray Watson (actually Raymond Bates Watson; born December 10, 1898 in Garden City , Kansas , † September 7, 1974 in Quincy , Illinois ) was an American middle-distance and obstacle runner .
At the Olympic Games in Antwerp in 1920 he was eighth over 3000 m obstacle, in 1924 seventh over 1500 m in Paris and ninth over 800 m in Amsterdam in 1928 .
In 1923 and 1927 he was US champion over 880 yards and in 1923 US indoor champion over 1000 yards. Starting for Kansas State University , he became NCAA champion in 1923 .
