He is the author of the books Crucified Again: Exposing Islam's New War on Christians (Regnery, 2013) and The Al Qaeda Reader (Doubleday, 2007).

Live and act

Ibrahim was born in the United States to Coptic immigrants from Egypt . He is fluent in Arabic and English .

Ibrahim studied at California State University, Fresno , where he wrote his master's thesis under Victor Davis Hanson , on an early military encounter between Islam and Byzantium , citing Arabic and Greek sources. Ibrahim also took courses on Arabic studies at Georgetown University and is now working on his PhD on Medieval Islamic History at the Catholic University of America .

Career

Ibrahim was formerly Vice Director of the Middle East Forum . He is supported by the David Horowitz Freedom Center .

While Ibrahim was writing his thesis, in which jihad was discussed in the early Islamic conquests, the terrorist attacks occurred on September 11, 2001 . Since then he has increasingly occupied himself with Al-Qaeda , Islamism and Al Jazeera .

Ibrahim is the editor and translator of The Al Qaeda Reader , which he published after finding untranslated Arabic documents from Al Qaeda at the time. According to Ibrahim, this document proves that the war of radical Islam against the West is not being waged because of undesirable political developments, but is an existential danger for all times and countries that is deeply rooted in faith.

Ibrahim is a commentator for FrontPage Magazine and a contributing journalist for the Christian Broadcasting Network .

reception

An article that Ibrahim wrote about Taqiyya in Jane's Islamic Affairs Analyst magazine and that was published on September 26, 2008, was occasionally described as well researched, with correct facts, but ultimately misleading . He responded to these allegations with Taqiyya Revisited: A Response to the Critics. His book The Al Qaeda Reader was reviewed by Reza Aslan in Slate magazine . The Handelsblatt , FAZ and Tagesspiegel also reported on the publication of the book .
