Rebecca Wiasak
Rebecca Wiasak (born May 24, 1984 in Geelong ) is an Australian cyclist who is active on track and road .
Athletic career
From 1996 to 2008 Rebecca Wiasak successfully competed in athletics and from 2008 to 2010 triathlon and played basketball , among other things in an Australian team of women who, like her, are of Lithuanian origin. From 2003 she studied sports journalism in Canberra and worked as a sports journalist for the Canberra Times and WIN news .
In 2010, Wiasak turned to competitive cycling and was accepted into the National Talent Identification and Development Program . In 2014 she won the prologue of the Czech Gracia Orlová stage race . In 2015 and 2016 she was the world champion in the single pursuit . The following year she was runner-up in the team pursuit with Ashlee Ankudinoff , Alexandra Manly and Amy Cure . At the Commonwealth Games 2018 she took silver in the single pursuit.
