Regular Show: The Film (Original Title: Regular Show: The Movie ) is an American cartoon , which is based on the series Regular Show - Fully wacky . The German premiere of the film was on January 17, 2016 on the German cartoon network offshoot. The film premiered in the United States on November 25, 2015.

In the future, the film begins in space. Rigby founded a resistance movement and fights against an evil cyborg and his army, which also includes Mordecai, who is a cyborg himself. After both fronts fight each other and the fight for Rigby turns out to be hopeless, Rigby flees to his spaceship / time machine with the thought of traveling into the past and warning the past-Mordecai and the past-Rigby of the impending danger in the future .

The creator JG Quintel was asked during the production of the fourth season of his series if he wanted to do a 40-minute special episode for this. JG Quintel declined this offer and instead asked if he could make a film. This request was granted.

Production of the film began in 2014. The film was announced on February 19, 2015. The first trailer for the film was presented on July 10, 2015 at the San Diego Comic-Con International .

JG Quintel confirmed that the film's story takes place between the middle of season six and the beginning of season seven of the series.
