Reiner Dennewitz

Reiner Dennewitz (born February 21, 1937 in Sundhausen ) is a German composer .

Life

After graduating from the Salzmannschule Schnepfenthal , he studied composition with Johann Cilenšek and piano with Siegfried Rapp at the Liszt School of Music in Weimar . Afterwards he was a master class student for composition with Fritz Geißler at the Academy of Arts in Berlin. He then worked as a music teacher and freelance composer. His compositions were u. a. Performed by the St. Thomas' Choir and the Canzonetta Chamber Choir Leipzig.

  • 1976: 3rd prize for chamber music at the GDR Music Days
  • 1980: Art Prize of the Gera District
  • 1983: Hanns Eisler Prize of the GDR Radio
