Ralf Hoyer (born April 13, 1950 in Berlin ) is a German composer .
Life
Hoyer studied sound engineering at the "Hanns Eisler" University of Music in Berlin . Then he was a sound director at VEB Deutsche Schallplatten and from 1977 to 1980 master class for composition with Ruth Zechlin and Georg Katzer at the Academy of Arts in Berlin. In 1991 he founded the Initiative Neue Musik Berlin . From 1995 to 1998 he was chairman of the Berlin section of the German Composers' Association . From 2010 to 2013 he was chairman of the Berlin Society for New Music . His works have been performed in Europe and the USA.
