Frank-Volker Eichhorn

Frank-Volker Eichhorn ( December 13, 1947 - January 17, 1978 ) was a German composer .

Life

Frank-Volker Eichhorn studied mathematics and physics for a teaching degree (diploma). He also worked as a teacher for two years, but also began studying at the Hanns Eisler University of Music in Berlin . He finally gave up his teaching activity as a math and physics teacher and devoted himself entirely to music, becoming a master student of Günter Kochan at the music college and teaching composition there. He founded the Chamber Studio concert series in the teacher's house in Berlin. In 1975 he was awarded the Hanns Eisler Prize . In 1978 he received first prize at the chamber music competition of the Dresden Music Festival . His compositions were published by Edition Peters and were a. a. Performed by the orchestra of the Komische Oper Berlin and the Leipzig Radio Symphony Orchestra . In January 1978 he was killed in a car accident . His grave is in the Kleinmachnow forest cemetery. His estate is kept in the Saxon State Library - Dresden State and University Library.
