Reinhold Schenk

Reinhold Schenk (born June 20, 1930 in Friedenthal , Altenkirchen district ; † August 28, 2010 ) was a German diplomat .

Life

Schenk studied law at the universities of Marburg and Paris from 1949 to 1955 . Furthermore, he completed a study abroad from 1952 at Columbia University in New York , which he finished in 1953 with a Master of Arts . In 1955 he passed the First State Examination and the following year he was with the measures of the German naval warfare in World War 2 in its international importance for Doctor of Law doctorate .

After passing the Second State Examination in Law in 1960, Schenk entered the service of the Foreign Office and initially received training as an attaché . From 1962 he was permanent representative of the head of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Manila . This was followed by a job in the central department of the Federal Foreign Office in Bonn , before moving to the German embassy in Washington in 1971 . From 1975 to 1978 he was permanent representative of the head of the German embassy in Stockholm and from 1978 to 1984 he was again appointed to the central department of the Foreign Ministry. From 1984 to 1988 he worked in the office of the Federal President in Bonn.

From March 1988 to 1992 Schenk was Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Stockholm , from 1992 to 1995 Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Tehran .
