Reinhold Seyerlen (born March 24, 1848 in Stuttgart ; † October 27, 1897 there ) was a German organist , composer and alpinist . He carried out several first ascents in the Zillertal Alps and the Rieserferner group .

Life

education

Reinhold Seyerlen studied philosophy and theology in Tübingen from 1866 to 1870 . In 1870 he studied music at the Stuttgart Conservatory with Immanuel Faißt and Otto Scherzer .

Career as a musician

In 1871/1872 he was the conductor of the Stuttgart Orchestra Association. In 1874 Seyerlen was appointed main teacher for organ studies, music composition and organ playing at the Conservatory in Stuttgart, one year later he became the first organist in the newly built Johanneskirche in Stuttgart , where he served the Weigle organ, op. 79, (III / P 48). In 1879 he became a professor.

In 1894 he took over the board of the Konsistorial Organ School in Stuttgart as the successor to Immanuel Faißt. He composed several chorale arrangements .

As a mountaineer

Together with Johann Stüdl from Prague, he was the first to climb the Schneebiger Nock over the western Rieserferner . Seyerlen was friends with Theodor Harpprecht .

Private

Since 1875 Seyerle was married to Pauline Burkhardt.
