The Reisenbach is a 12.5 kilometer long brook in the Neckar-Odenwald district of Baden-Württemberg , which flows into the Itter from the left at the Antonslust residential area in the town of Eberbach in the Rhein-Neckar district after running westwards . The stream gave the name to the district of Reisenbach in the Odenwald community of Mudau .
geography
course
The main source stream of the Reisenbach rises from the wooded Heunenbuckel ( 530.6 m above sea level ) south of Unterscheidental , around which it flows in an arc that extends to the north. Then flows to something below 440 m above sea level. NHN from the edge of the clearing island around Wagenschwend in the south a somewhat shorter and less catchment area, nameless forest stream. On the adjoining west run it notches further into the Buntsandstein-Odenwald . In the Reisenbacher Grund ( 360 m ) it receives the third source stream from the northeast, which , coming from the high-altitude village of Reisenbach ( 540 m ), drops more steeply than the previous two into the valley on its only 1.8 km long run. From the Reisenbacher Grund, the Reisenbach creates a narrow, wooded Kerbtal valley that stretches out strongly to the north around the plateau of the Winterhauchs . Then at Antonslust , a residential area in the town of Eberbach, it takes the Höllbach from the left and southeast , its largest tributary in terms of length and catchment area. 500 meters further west it already flows into the lower Itter from the right and east .
Catchment area
It covers 38.2 km², lies naturally in the sub-area of the Central Sandstone Forest of the Odenwald and is largely forested. In the north-west it borders on the catchment area of the upward Itter, in the north on the smaller tributaries of it. In the northeast lies the headwaters of the long Elz . Behind the eastern border, its large tributary, the Trienzbach, feeds it with water. Beyond the southeastern scabbard, the Seebach, which flows into Neckargerach, runs like the more important Elz to the Neckar . In the rest of the south, the Holderbach competes ; it only flows into the Itter shortly before it flows into the Neckar; on the ridge between its valley and that of the large Reisenbach tributary Höllbach stands at the southwest corner of the catchment area the largest elevation in the entire Odenwald, 626.8 m above sea level. NHN high cat humps .

traffic
Coming from Reisenbach , the district road K 3921 accompanies the north side of the valley floor. After crossing into the Rhein-Neckar-Kreis, it bears the order number K 4114. Shortly before it flows into the Ittertal, the stream passes under the “Hessian” Odenwald Railway .
