The Rempelsbach rises at an altitude of 337  m above sea level. NHN in a wooded area in the Unteresselbach district , a district of the city of Neustadt an der Aisch in Middle Franconia . The closest place to the source is about 1.7 km south and is called Unternesselbach.

After the source, the stream flows through a nearby pond. Then the stream, which runs in an easterly direction, is reinforced by the Holackergraben and Schalkhausergraben. The stream then flows through the northern part of the municipality of Langenfeld and then changes its course to the south at the level of the Eckenweiher area . Then the stream, which now runs strictly south, passes the village of Diebach . Then various small trenches such as B. the Kuhtrieb- and Leitengraben in the Rempelsbach.

After a 7.1 km run, the stream flows out at an altitude of 292  m above sea level. NHN west of the city of Neustadt an der Aisch left into the Aisch . Its run ends about 45 meters below its source, so it has an average bed gradient of 6.3 ‰.

Catchment area

The 12.6 km² catchment area of ​​the Rempelsbach lies in the Vorderen Steigerwald and is drained to the North Sea via the Aisch, Regnitz , Main and Rhine rivers.

It borders

  • in the west, north and east to that of the Aisch tributary Ehebach ;
  • and in the south to that of the Nesselbach , which also flows into the Aisch.

The western part of the catchment area is dominated by forest, and the area around the Schloßbuck and the higher areas around Diebach are also forested, otherwise arable land dominates.
