history

The place is named in 912 as "Thiofbah" (either as "deep brook" in relation to the location cut deep between hills in a brook bottom or derived from a personal name such as Diet / Dit - see " Dietersheim " - from the tribe thiud , 'people ') first mentioned by name in a document in which King Conrad I gave goods to the Freising Bishop Dracholf in this place. The next documentary mention dates on April 20, 1327, when Heinrich von Hohenlohe is said to have ceded Wernsberg Castle including “Diepach” to Bamberg's Bishop Heinrich II von Sternberg . A document from 1357 contradicts this, however, in which Gerlach von Hohenlohe still owned the tithe for "Dyepach under Wernsperg" and gave it to Hans von Lauffenholz as a fief. 1361/64 it is mentioned in the Burggräflichen Salbuch that "Ditbach" (or "Ditpach") belongs to the Burggräflichen Neustadt. At the beginning of the 15th century it belonged to the Brandenburg-Kulmbach Margraviate . In 1421 Margrave Friedrich I. Contz von Lauffenholz u. a. Goods in "Diepach". The Counts of Castell were also wealthy here. In 1479 Hans von Lauffenholz u. a. Properties in "Dieppach". In 1517 the Birkenfeld Monastery also had interest goods here.

The part of Diebach to the west of the brook was originally a separate place called Friemersdorf (village of Freimar or Friedumar). A separation of the western from the eastern local area was also evident later, when the west became the parish of Schauerheim (dean's office in Schlüsselfeld in Ehegau, a sub-district of the Iffgau) and the east (looked after by the Franciscans of Riedfeld for several years from 1490) became the parish of Neustadt (dean's office Windsheim im Rangau) belonged. In the Salbuch of 1541, a demarcation between Diebach and the Neustadt district is documented.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 17 properties in "Dippach". The high court was exercised by the Brandenburg-Bayreuth city bailiff Neustadt an der Aisch . The village and township government had the box office Neustadt held. All properties were owned by the Principality of Bayreuth as the landlord (Kastenamt Neustadt: 2 courtyards, 1 Sölde , 1 shepherd's house and the Birkenfeld monastery : 3 courtyards, 3 courtyards, 3 Gütlein, 2 Häckersgütlein, 1 tavern, 1 forge).

In 1810 Diebach came to the new Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the municipal edict, it was assigned to the tax district of Herrnneuse , which was formed in 1811 . It also belonged to the rural community of Herrnneuses formed in 1813 . With the second community edict (1818) it became an independent rural community. This was subordinate to the regional court Neustadt an der Aisch in administration and jurisdiction and in the financial administration to the Rentamt Neustadt an der Aisch (renamed in 1920 to Finanzamt Neustadt an der Aisch ). From 1862 Diebach was administered by the Neustadt an der Aisch district office ( renamed Neustadt an der Aisch district in 1938 ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court Neustadt an der Aisch until 1879, from 1880 district court Neustadt an der Aisch . The community had an area of 3.248 km².

On July 1, 1969, before the regional reform in Bavaria , Diebach was incorporated into Neustadt.
