List of rivers in the Steigerwald
In the following, the rivers of the Steigerwald and the immediate mountain ranges are ordered clockwise, starting with the Regnitz side. Linked source areas are located
outside the Steigerwald in the narrower sense, italicized outside the Steigerwald in the broader sense.
Areas
The rivers and streams in the Steigerwald drain either eastward into the Regnitz or southward into its Aisch tributary or westward into the lower Main tributary Tauber or westward to northward into the Main on its section between the Breitbach estuary in Marktbreit and up to the Regnitz estuary in Bamberg. The following four major catchment areas therefore encompass the entire Steigerwald:
