Richard Aimonetto (born January 24, 1973 in Chamonix ) is a French ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Chamonix Hockey Club in the Ligue Magnus since 2005 .
Career
Richard Aimonetto began his career as a hockey player in the Canadian junior league QMJHL , in which he was active from 1990 to 1993 for the Tigres de Victoriaville , Lynx de Saint-Jean and Cataractes de Shawinigan . Then the center returned to his French hometown, where he spent the next three years with the record champions Chamonix Hockey Club in the Ligue Magnus . In the 1996/97 season he ran for its league rivals Grenoble Métropole Hockey 38 , before taking on for Chamonix for another year. This was followed by two more seasons each in France's top division at the Lyon Hockey Club and the Hockey Club de Reims , the left-handed shooter with Reims winning the national championship for the first time in his career in the 2001/02 season .
In the summer of 2002 Aimonetto signed a contract with HC Mulhouse after Reims had to go bankrupt despite his sporting success. From 2003 to 2005 he played for HC Amiens Somme , with whom he became champions for the second time in his career in the 2003/04 season. In the 2004/05 season he was assistant captain at Amiens. Since the 2005/06 season, the two-time Olympic participant has been back on the ice as team captain for his home club from Chamonix in the Ligue Magnus.
International
For France , Aimonetto took part in the B World Championships in 2001 , 2002 and 2003 and the A World Championships in 1998 , 1999 and 2000 . He was also in his country's squad for the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano and Salt Lake City in 2002, as well as qualifying for the 2002 Winter Games.
