Richard Krüger , probably born as Hermann Emmrich (born August 3, 1930 in Gauernitz , † August 26, 1995 in Prenzlau ), was a German actor .

Life

Richard Krüger was short and worked in various fairy tale films . In the 1950s he was seen in two fairy tale productions by the Schongerfilm production company - Zwerg Nase (1953) and Schneeweißchen und Rosenrot (1955). In the fairy tale film Snow White and Rose Red , he played the dwarf with a red beard whom the two girls encounter in the forest. In the DEFA production Das singende, klingende Bäumchen (1957), he took on the role of the evil dwarf who turns the handsome prince into a bear. For this film, Krüger had been engaged by director Francesco Stefani , with whom Krüger had already worked on the film Dwarf Nose in 1952 .

A photo with Richard Krüger and Eckart Dux from the film The Singing, Sounding Tree , on which Krüger's small stature can also be recognized, was published in 1994 in the text and photo book The Second Life of the Film City Babelsberg . DEFA feature films 1946–1992 published by Henschel-Verlag .

Biographical information about Richard Krüger was not known for a long time. In June 2012, the Nordkurier published several articles on the possible identity of Krüger. According to this, Krüger was an artist , his real name was Hermann Emmrich and lived in Prenzlau in the Uckermark . The leading actress in the film The Singing, Sounding Tree , Christel Bodenstein , was unable to confirm the identity of Richard Krüger and Hermann Emmrich. she got to know the dwarf actor under the name Richard Krüger. Several contemporary witnesses, residents of Prenzlau and acquaintances of Krüger's partner have now confirmed the identity of Emmrich and Krüger. Another woman who had known him for years ruled out an alleged identity between Emmrich and Krüger.

Richard Krüger should not be confused with the short actor Werner Krüger , who also appeared in various fairy tale films under the direction of Fritz Genschow .

According to the Prenzlau city administration, the grave of Hermann Emmrich, which was in the local cemetery, was cleared for the purpose of application on May 28, 2020.
