Richard Langer

Richard Langer (born November 28, 1879 in Nordhausen am Harz , † October 11, 1950 in Kreßbach near Tübingen ) was a German sculptor and university professor .

Langer studied at the Berlin Art Academy with Louis Tuaillon . In 1912 he received the “Grand State Prize” and with this scholarship financed a longer stay in Rome at the Villa Strohl-Fern . He then lived and worked in Düsseldorf , where he taught from 1919 to 1932 as a professor for building and decorative sculpture at the Düsseldorf Art Academy . His students there include Fritz Schwarzbeck and Adolf Wamper . Langer was a member of the Berlin Secession .
